Work will begin on Lake Warner dam restoration

Fb-Button

Funding is now in place for dam restoration in Hadley.  At Hadley town meeting on May 1st, voters apporoved $100,000 dollars of public funding for restoring the historic dam in north hadley.  The $100,000 dollars will come from Hadley’s Community Preservation Act account, which at the current time has almost $1.4 million dollars available.  That same week the Massachusetts state legislature approved $125,000 dollars of funding for restoring this dam.  In addition to these two public sources over $80,000 dollars of private donations have been pledged to the dam project. With this funding now in place work has begun on engineering plans and restoration is expected to begin in the Spring of 2015. The Friends of Lake Warner want to thank everyone involved for their support.
